Transistor & Photovoltaic Output PhotoCouplers

In a photovoltaic-output photocoupler, the light emitted by an LED is received by a photodiode array (PDA) which converts it into an output voltage. In a transistor-output photocoupler, the light emitted by an LED is received by a transistor which converts it into an output voltage.
