An electrical device designed to transfer electrical energy through electromagnet induction. Transformers are used to increase/decrease the voltages of transforms alternating current (AC) in electrical power applications. There are many different types of transformers such as Audio Transformers, Power (distribution) Transformers, Pulse Transformer, Leakage Transformer and Capacitor Transformer. Transformers are used in a variety of consumer applications such as washing machines or vacuum cleaners and also in industrial applications involving power.
