A logic gate is an idealized or physical device implementing a boolean function. It performs a logical operation on one or more binary inputs and produces a single binary output. A logic gate exists in the hundreds of millions in every modern computer and forms the building blocks for all of the operations, which are performed by processors and memories. An inverter or NOT gate is a logic gate which implements logical complement. Logic NOT Gate is the most basic of all the logical gates and is sometimes referred to as an Inverting Buffer or simply an Inverter. It inverts (complements) its input signal.
