A Light-emitting diode (LED) is a semiconductor device that emits visible light when an electric current passes through a semiconductor junction in it. It is a P-N junction diode that emits light when activated. The light is not particularly bright, but in most LEDs it is monochromatic and occurring at a single wavelength. Lighting products relating to the illumination of spaces and objects cover a wide range of applications ranging from street lighting, automotive, building illumination, and architectural lighting, to backlighting for displays and pixels for grid-based LED vision systems. A full range of products are available in this category to suit both low-power and high-output applications.
